Basic Ingredients for fried steak

  • Season cubed steaks using
  • 1tsp salt,
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder,
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper and
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper

How to make fried steak

  • Season 1 cup flour in a bowl with 1/2 tsp Garlic powder and 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper.
  • Mix 2 eggs and 1/4 cup buttermilk in a large bowl. Stir until combined.
  • Rub cubed steak with seasoned flour and then dip it in the egg buttermilk mix. let the mixture drip off, then dip it back into the seasoned bread to coat.
  • Allow the floured steak to rest on a plate for 20 mins to allow the flour to soak into the meat.
  • While you wait, heat 1 cup of oil in a large frying pan.
  • Once the steak is piping hot, fry it for 3-4 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
  • To drain oil, place a steak on a paper towel.
  • Pour some oil out of the pan leaving 6 tbs in the pan
  • Heat on low
  • Add 1-1/2 tbs flour to the saucepan and stir until flour is dissolved
  • Mix 1-1/2 cups of carnation milk with about 1/4 cup beef stock until smooth
  • Season gravy made with 1/4 tsp Salt, 1/2 tsp Onion powder, and 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
