These Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls are one of my all-time favourite energy ball recipes. In typical no-bake bite fashion, all you need to do to make them is blend and roll and you’ve got raw vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough balls coming at ya in t-minus 5 minutes.
Be Prepared
Just to be prepared, I almost always have some sort of no-bake treat such as these balls stashed in my freezer. I have a wicked sweet tooth and snacking on healthier treats like these oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough balls helps keeps it in check. You can store these in the freezer for weeks so they’re a good option to make ahead of time and keep in the freezer for surprise snack attacks.
They don’t freeze solid and I love the texture straight from the freezer but you can also store them in the fridge or even at room temperature. I love them chilled so usually store them in the fridge or freezer.
Baking Soda, What?
Yep, I put baking soda in my cookie dough balls! I swear it’s the secret ingredient for real cookie dough flavour. That combined with the sea salt and pure vanilla extract and you’re getting into serious cookie dough territory. These three ingredients are optional but I’d highly recommend adding them all if you want these bites to taste like oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough! And I’m assuming you do, ya? k, perfect.
K, let’s see about some cookie dough balls. Well, for starters, these are really easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. As for the nuts, you can use cashews, almonds or another nut like walnuts to make them and other than that, you only need a few other ingredients and optional flavour enhancers. Oh, and they’re vegan, gluten-free and oil-free. If you’re into that kinda thing.
5 Main Ingredients:
raw cashews
dates
oats
pure maple syrup
dairy-free chocolate chips
Cookie Dough Flavour Enhancers:
baking soda
pure vanilla extract
sea salt
Once you’ve got all your ingredients, toss ’em all in a blender, mix ’em all up and roll into balls! These can also be pressed into a baking pan to create Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars instead of balls. Both the balls and bars are fantastic and make a wonderful, tasty treat, quick and easy snack or energizing pre-workout boost!
