Basic ingredients for runner bean chutney mary berry
- 2lbs beans
- 1/2 lbs onions,
- 1 1/2 lbs brown sugar
- 1pt vinegar
- 2 tbsp cornflour+vinegar to mix
- 1 tsp dry mustard and 1 tsp curry paste
How to make runner bean chutney mary berry
- First of all, Boil the beans in salted water and drain. The finely chopped onions can be cooked in 1/2 pint vinegar. Boil the beans, onions, and any remaining vinegar (reserving about 1-2 tbsp) in a saucepan for 15 minutes.
- Cook for 10 minutes. Add the sugar to the mustard, curry powder, cornflour, and 2 tbsp vinegar. Label the sterilized jars with your label.
