Basic ingredients for goats cheese and red onion tart
- 1x ready-to-roll puff pastry goats’ cheese
- 2 x red onions
- 15g butter
- 1x tsp Sugar
- 1x tsp Balsamic vinegar
- 1x drizzle of olive oil
- 1x egg
How to make goats cheese and red onion tart
- Peel and slice 2 x red onions 2. Put the sliced onion in a pot along with some butter and oil. To this, add 1 x teaspoon sugar and 1 1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar.
- Turn heat to medium until the mixture is caramelized. Mine took 35 minutes. Pre-heat oven to 190°F Preparation for assembly: Slice goat cheese logs into pieces.
- Cut out the pastry into shapes. I chose a rectangle. To create a border, score the same shape within the pastry by approximately 1 cm. Spread some caramelized onion inside the pastry, then top it with goat’s cheese. Apply whisked egg wash to the border. Now Bake at 190°C for 20 minutes, or until the border is smooth.
