feathered mince pies
You can make your theme pies by storing it in sterilized jars.
Basic ingredients
- 450g Ox tongue
- 900g Raisins
- 600g Minced apples
- 900g Suet
- 1.1kg Caster sugar
- 450g Candied peel
- 2 Lemons Salt
- 2 Grated Nutmegs
- 2 Tbsp Ginger
- 1 Tbsp Pounded Apple
- 300ml Sherry or Madeira
- 300ml Brandy
How to make feathered mince pies
Combine the ox and suet, fruits, raisins, currants and apples, sugar, two pinches each, nutmeg, sherry, sherry, and brandy in a large everything until well combined. You can either store mincemeat in sterilized jars or m.ake mince pies like Mrs Crocombe.
