The cake:-

  • Flour 1 3/4 Cup (220g)
  • 3/4 cup (75g), Cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 3/4 cups Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) Buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml), Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (240ml). Coffee
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

The frosting:-

  • 3/4 cup (175g) Butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups (335g) Cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup (67g), Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp 200g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

How do you make mary berry express chocolate cake recipe

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter two 8-inch (20 cm) cake pans. Line the bottoms with parchment paper. Sprinkle lightly with cocoa powder. Set aside.
  • Now add flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda to a large bowl. Mix well and place in a bowl.
  • Mix buttermilk, coffee (or water), eggs, and oil in a separate bowl. Combine all ingredients until well blended
