Mix ground sausage and ground beef in a large saucepan on medium heat. Use a spoon or a fork to cut the meat into smaller pieces. Brown the meat for 5 minutes. Take out any grease.
Cook for another 5 to 7 mins until the onions are softened and the meat is cooked through.
Stir in the garlic, tomato paste, and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until the tomato paste is toasty.
Add crushed tomatoes, white wine, and beef broth. Add fresh basil, parsley, and oregano, and season with salt, pepper, and freshly ground black pepper. You can add herbs to enhance the flavor but they are not part of traditional bolognese sauce.
Mix well and bring to boil. After this, Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer covered for 1 to 4 hours stirring occasionally. The sauce will develop flavors over time, so allow it to simmer for at least 4 hours.
