This simple Brussel sprouts and bacon recipe makes a great side dish for even the most experienced home cook. Brussel sprouts can be roasted in the oven until crispy on the outside, and tender inside. Crispy Brussel sprouts are ready to eat straight out of the oven. However, bacon and onions will make sure that even picky eaters want more.

Basic ingredients for brussel sprouts and bacon recipe

  • 10-20 Brussel sprouts, chopped and halved
  • 2 to 4 oz bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 3-4 garlic bulbs, finely chopped
  • a few leaves of parsley stems removed, and finely chopped Pantry Ingredients and Seasoning
  • Olive Oil
  • 1-2 teaspoon Chef Ange Base Seasoning
  • salt & vinegar
  • 1-2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

  • Preheat oven to 400F convection. Cut in half the Brussel sprouts. Take out any leaves that are yellow and put them in a large bowl.

  • Assemble: Pre-heat oven to 375F convection, or 400F regular oven. Mix olive oil with the base seasoning. Place cut side down on a baking sheet. To save time cleaning, line the baking sheet with aluminum foil, parchment paper, or a silicone mat.
  • Bake tray for 20-30 minutes, or until lightly charred and browned. To get more browning, periodically check on the Brussels sprouts.

  • Once the pieces are cooked through, take them out and keep the bacon fat in your pan.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add the onion slices to the bacon fat and cook until they are browned. Remember If there is not enough bacon fat, you can add some olive oil.
  • Sauté garlic for 1 minute.
  • Mix in a heavy amount of white wine vinegar. Let it evaporate for a few seconds.
